Vernon John Hermes and Anthony George Hartman appeal their convictions of conspiracy to destroy and damage by fire a building used in and affecting interstate commerce, in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 371 & 844(i). Hermes was sentenced by the district court1 to two years imprisonment and a special assessment of fifty dollars. Hartman was sentenced to imprisonment for one year and a day and a fifty dollar assessment...
