This appeal is from a $626,000 judgment entered in favor of plaintiff-appellee Daniel Sallis in a personal injury action. Sallis suffered a cervical hyperextension, commonly known as "whiplash," when his pickup was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Helen Lamansky and owned by the Sisters of Mercy of the Union in the United States of America, Province of Chicago.
