Defendant, Patrick Howard, was charged by bill of information with armed robbery, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:64. He was tried by a jury, which returned the responsive verdict of guilty of attempted armed robbery. The trial court imposed a sentence of twenty-four and one-half years at hard labor.
