On June 11, 1985, appellant Betty Jean DeLapp, as executor of the estate of Paul Erwin DeLapp, initiated the present products liability action, seeking compensatory damages under a theory of strict liability for Paul DeLapp's fatal injuries which allegedly resulted from his use of a defective hoist. The petition alleges the hoist was manufactured by Xtraman, Incorporated (hereinafter Xtraman I), a Louisiana corporation, sometime prior to 1980. Appellee...
