On June 7, 1982, Jerome W. York, Jr., for himself and as the representative of a class of those similarly situated, filed this suit seeking to recover unpaid wages allegedly owed them by defendants, the Wayne County Sheriff and Wayne County. Plaintiffs are all individual members of the deputy sheriffs' union and are employed as deputy sheriffs by defendants. Both defendants moved for accelerated judgment under GCR 1963, 116.1(5) and for summary judgment...
