The defendant was convicted by a jury on December 17, 1984, of rape, G.L.c. 265, § 22, and indecent assault and battery of a woman we refer to as "Christine." He was also convicted of indecent assault and battery on a retarded person, G.L.c. 265, § 13F, the second victim being a woman we refer to as "Camille."
