George Scheigert appeals directly from his jury trial conviction for violation of the federal firearms laws. Scheigert was found guilty of possessing one unregistered machinegun in violation of 26 U.S.C. §§ 5861(d), 5871 and transferring the same machinegun without approval of the Secretary of the Treasury in violation of 26 U.S.C. §§ 5861(e), 5871.
