Murray Bowman Brown was charged with drug smuggling and tax evasion. A trial was scheduled for January of 1985. Brown entered the hospital shortly before the trial date and was therefore granted a continuance. After granting further continuances, the district court held a hearing in November on Brown's ability to stand trial. The district court concluded that Brown was healthy...
