DRAUGHN, Justice.

This is a wrongful death case. Gustav and Grace Deltscheff sued Harris County and Lorraine Whipple, alleging that their negligence proximately caused the death of their daughter, Joan Irene Deltscheff. Upon findings of negligence by the jury, the trial court entered judgment against the defendants in the amount of $273,000 together with $65,711.54 prejudgment interest.
