This is an appeal from a dismissal due to the equitable doctrine of laches. On October 26, 1981, the "M/V Abbeyville" went aground on a reef near the island of Culebra, Puerto Rico. Defendant Benjamin Shipping Co., Ltd. ("Benjamin Shipping"), the owners and operators of the vessel, entered into an agreement with defendant West Indies Transport Ltd.
