On May 24, 1984, Edward James Deboue and Thomas Mitchell Deboue were charged by grand jury indictment with two counts of first degree murder in violation of R.S. 14:30. They were arraigned on May 30, 1984 and entered pleas of not guilty to both counts. After a jury trial, the defendants were found guilty as charged on both counts. As to Edward Deboue, the jury recommended a life sentence on count two but was undecided on count one. On November 2, 1984...
