Plaintiff Bankers Trust Company ("Bankers") commenced this action in August 1982 seeking to invoke the civil remedies of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act ("RICO"), 18 U.S.C. §§ 1961-1968 (1982 & Supp. II 1984), to recover treble damages and attorney's fees for injuries suffered as a consequence of defendants' alleged bankruptcy frauds.
