The appellants, retired pilots of American Airlines, brought this four count complaint pursuant to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). They sought to enforce their rights under an American Airlines defined benefit pension plan. The district court, on cross-motions for summary judgment, held that the alleged ERISA violations were unfounded. Accordingly, the court entered judgment in favor of the appellees on all four counts....
