This court is called upon to address the scope and administration of the Jencks Act, 18 U.S.C. § 3500, which requires a federal prosecutor to produce for the defense any statement or report made by a witness which relates to that witness's testimony on direct examination and, if contested, to submit the statement or report to the court for an in camera inspection.
