Appellant, Marvin Lamar May, was convicted of first degree robbery on January 17, 1985. Code of Alabama § 13A-8-41 (1975). The State submitted proof of four prior felony convictions and appellant was sentenced as a habitual offender to life imprisonment, without parole, in the state penitentiary.
