The body of William Norman was found just off the concrete turnaround area at the end of a rest stop on I-40 in Conway County. Charles Dix, the appellant, who had been Norman's traveling and drinking companion in the few days before the body was found, and who was later arrested while driving Norman's car, was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.
