Charles Lynch and Michael Bauer at a joint jury trial were convicted of first-degree murder, see 18 U.S.C. § 1111 (Supp. II 1984), conspiracy to murder, see 18 U.S.C. § 1117 (1982), and possession of a weapon while inmates at a federal correctional facility.
