GUNDERSON, Justice:

On September 14, 1981, Timothy Stahr Galloway entered Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital in Las Vegas with his three-and-a-half-year-old son, Timothy Curtis, who had somehow received serious burns on his right buttocks, calf and thigh.
