On February 16, 1983 defendant Walter Howard Brown was convicted after a jury trial of a single count of mail fraud in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1341. At that time sentencing was set for March 31, 1983 and a pre-sentence investigation ordered. Defendant failed to appear for his sentencing.
