Jimmy Ruben Soto was convicted of possession of a firearm by a felon in violation of 18 U.S.C. App. § 1202(a)(1) (Count I) and of possession of an unregistered sawed-off shotgun in violation of 26 U.S.C. § 5861(d) (Count IV). The trial judge found Soto to be a dangerous special offender under 18 U.S.C. § 3575(a). He initially sentenced Soto to the maximum terms of 2 years on Count I and 10 years on Count IV with an enhancement...
