This litigation originated as a class action suit brought under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, 15 U.S.C. §§ 2301-2312 (1982) ("Magnuson-Moss," "the Act"), involving alleged defects in the oil systems of Volkswagen Rabbits. The district court dismissed the class action for lack of subject matter jurisdiction. It concluded that only 75 of the 119 named plaintiffs had viable claims for relief...
