HAYNSWORTH, Senior Circuit Judge:

The district court dismissed a 42 U.S.C. § 1983 claim for damages against a Virginia Circuit Judge upon the ground of absolute immunity and imposed a sanction of an attorney's fee in the amount of $1,000 to be paid by the plaintiff's lawyer to the Attorney General of Virginia who was providing legal representation for the judge. This appeal brings up only the question of the imposition of the sanction.
