Plaintiff, V & S Planting Company, orally sublet certain wooded land from Ralph Haire in December of 1980. Plaintiff commenced clearing operations on the land soon after. The owner of the property, The Red River Waterway Commission, evicted plaintiff from the land subsequent to plaintiff's completion of the clearing operations.

Plaintiff filed suit against the Waterway Commission seeking damages...
