Defendant was charged by bill of information with simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling contrary to LSA-R.S. 14:62.2. On May 10, 1984, after trial by jury, the defendant was found guilty as charged. Subsequently, on May 14, 1984, the district attorney filed a habitual offender bill of information. Thereafter, the trial judge found the defendant to be a habitual offender, and on July 17, 1984 the defendant was sentenced to twenty-four years at hard...
