Lewellyn Acoff filed this suit under 42 U.S.C.A. § 1983 (West 1981) against the City of Tuscaloosa and police officers D.E. Abston and J.T. Reed. Acoff claimed that certain injuries inflicted on him by the officers violated his constitutional rights under the Fourth, Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments.
