HEANEY, Circuit Judge.

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 1439, AFL-CIO (the Union) and Eugene McMahon, sued the Union Electric Company (the Company), alleging that the Company's employees' contributory group life insurance policy violated the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. (ADEA), 29 U.S.C. § 621 et seq. After a bench trial, the district court entered judgment in favor of the Company, and the Union appealed.
