I. BACKGROUND

This case involves a claim of racial discrimination in employment. The plaintiff, Dr. Harriette McAdoo originally brought this action against the University of Maryland, its President Dr. John S. Toll, and other officials of the University pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1981. Plaintiff subsequently amended her complaint to include claims under 42 U.S.C. §§ 1983 and 2000e et seq....
