This suit arises out of an accident involving an automobile owned and operated by plaintiff, Celie Kaplan, and a patrol car owned by defendant, Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Department, and operated by defendant, Scott Christianson. Plaintiff's petition also named as a defendant the sheriff's department's insurer, Lloyds Insurance Company.
