The stop of Melvin and Gordon Hanson in Lake of the Woods County late on July 24, 1982, led to the discovery of marijuana in their possession and led to the consensual search of, and discovery of more marijuana in, their respective residences in nearby Roseau County early on the 25th. Gordon was charged in Lake of the Woods County with the petty misdemeanor offense of possessing a small amount of marijuana, and Melvin was charged there with the misdemeanor...
