FLAUM, Circuit Judge.

This appeal raises the issue of whether the district court abused its discretion in assessing attorneys' fees against the appellant attorneys pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1927 (1982). We conclude that the record is not adequate to support an award of fees, and thus, we reverse the judgment and remand for a new determination of whether an award of attorneys' fees is appropriate.
