The plaintiff, Damon "Jack" Jackson, brought this suit to recover money owed him in connection with two construction projects. The two projects were for the construction of Wal-Mart stores, one in Jennings, in Jefferson Davis Parish, and the other in Galliano, in Lafourche Parish.1 The plaintiff further sought recognition of a laborer's and materialman's privilege against each job site.
