Appellant was convicted of the murder of Joann Farrow and sentenced to life in prison. Appellant and the victim had a relationship which resulted in the birth of a child in 1977. On January 30, 1983, appellant tried unsuccessfully to see the child and the victim. Obtaining the victim's phone number, he called and persuaded her to go out with him.
