By virtue of an information filed in the circuit court of St. Clair County, defendant David Parker was charged with the unlawful use of a weapon in violation of sections 24-1(a)(10) and 24-1(b) of the Criminal Code of 1961 (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1981, ch. 38, pars. 24-1(a)(10), 24-1(b)). The information alleged that defendant, within five years of his release from the penitentiary on a robbery...
