Defendant, William G. Howard, was charged with possession, with intent to distribute, a controlled dangerous substance, Pentazocine, and found guilty as charged. R.S. 40:967. The defendant was sentenced as a multiple offender and ordered to serve five (5) years in the Department of Corrections. R.S. 15:529.1.
