On January 30, 1980, the defendant, George Griffon, was indicted by the grand jury of East Baton Rouge Parish on thirty-two counts of medicaid fraud in violation of La.R.S. 14:70.1. Prior to trial, four counts were dismissed. After a bench trial, defendant was convicted on March 15, 1982 of twenty-two counts and sentenced as to each count on June 28, 1982 to serve consecutive one year terms in the parish...
