CURRAULT, Judge.

Whaland M. Shepherd was charged by bill of information with two counts of simple burglary (LSA-R.S. 14:62). A plea of not guilty was entered at arraignment. Pre-trial motions, including a motion to suppress confession, were heard on February 23, 1983. Trial before a six-person jury commenced on May 16, 1983, and on the following day the jury returned a verdict of guilty as to both counts. On July 13, 1983, Judge James L.
