The defendant, Bobby Ray Reed, was convicted by a unanimous twelve member jury of first degree murder in violation of La.R.S. 14:30. At the penalty phase of the trial the jury was unable to reach a unanimous decision on whether to impose the death penalty and defendant was sentenced to life imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence. On appeal defendant relies on two assignments of error for reversal...
