Samuel Berkman appeals the grant of a directed verdict in favor of The Commercial Bank, Douglasville, Georgia on a suit upon a note. The sole issue at trial was the adequacy of consideration. Held:

1. In March 1981 Berkman signed a note with The Commercial Bank. This was done in connection with Berkman assuming the duties of general partner in an Atlanta restaurant, Burt's Place. Berkman's note followed one executed in 1977 by Lloyd Adams...
