John A. Stroud filed this suit in tort for recovery of damages allegedly sustained by him in an automobile accident on May 4, 1979, on La. Hwy. 6, near Natchitoches, Louisiana. At approximately noon, the plaintiff, pursuant to his duties as a traveling salesman for John Morrell Company, was driving westbound on La. Hwy. 6 at about 45 to 50 miles per hour.
