In September 1981, through a "mass mailing," the First Tennessee Bank mailed out VISA First Banking Cards to all of its customers who had (1) maintained a checking account with the Bank for a period of nine months, (2) never been overdrawn, and (3) maintained an average balance of $300.00 in their account. The result of such mailing in this case is an unmitigated catastrophe...
