Morris Jewelers, Inc., doing business as Morris Jewelers (Morris) and Johnson's Jewelers (Johnson's), brought suit against the General Electric Credit Corporation (GECC) claiming breach of contract, and associated claims of fraud, negligence, deceptive trade practices, and usury. The claims grew out of an arrangement under which GECC purchased the accounts receivable of the jewelry stores as a collection agency to collect those accounts...
