OPINION

KAUS, J.

The issue in this case is whether Code of Civil Procedure section 12a, which extends the time period when the last day for performing an act falls on a holiday, is applicable to the time limit of Government Code section 945.6 for bringing an action against a public entity. We conclude that the answer is yes.
