Mary Richardson Pickens (plaintiff) brought an action for separation from bed and board against her husband, Joseph Aljay Pickens (defendant). In addition, plaintiff filed a rule for custody, alimony pendente lite, child support, and use of the family home.

After hearing plaintiff's rule, the trial court rendered judgment in her favor, awarding her custody of Sonja Pickens (the only child born of the parties' marriage), the use of the family...
