This case arose out of facts relating to the severance of membership ties between American Farm Bureau Federation and the Alabama Farm Bureau Federation. Elgin, a member of the Alabama Farm Bureau, sued defendants for damages under various contract and tort theories, and also sought declaratory and injunctive relief.
