Inversiones Varias, S.A. (INVASA) sued Sanders in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit for damages pursuant to a lease agreement concerning commercial properties in Managua, Nicaragua. Sanders, the lessee, raised the affirmative defense of impossibility of performance due to revolutionary hostilities in Managua.
