OPINION

CADENA, Chief Justice.

Appellant was found guilty by a jury of the offense of aggravated sexual abuse. The jury set his punishment at imprisonment for fifteen (15) years and a fine of $10,000.00.

The pertinent portion of the indictment alleges that appellant, "RICKY ALLEN MURPHY, ... did ... intentionally and knowingly, with intent to arouse and gratify his sexual desire, engage in deviate sexual intercourse by ... placing his genitals in...
