OPINION

BURKE, Chief Justice.

This appeal is a challenge of an arbitration award upholding the discharge of Eugene Racine (Racine) from state employment. The superior court affirmed the arbitrator's decision and we, in turn, affirm.

Racine, Captain of the M/V Tustumena, was discharged from his employment with the Alaska State Ferry System on March 10, 1977. His termination resulted from alleged violations of Alaska law1
