Defendant, Alton Stovall, was charged by grand jury indictment with two counts of aggravated rape in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:42. Upon trial by jury, he was found guilty on count 1 and guilty of attempted aggravated rape on count 2. On count 1 the defendant was sentenced to life imprisonment without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence. On count 2 the defendant was sentenced to thirty...
