After a jury trial, defendant was convicted of concealing or misrepresenting the identity of a motor vehicle with intent to mislead by altering the manufacturer's serial number, MCL 750.415(2); MSA 28.647(2), and was sentenced to pay a fine of $300 and costs of $500 within 20 days or to be confined in the county jail for 120 days.
