This is an automobile seizure and forfeiture proceeding. A pickup truck owned by defendant Thomas P. Schackelford was seized by officers of the Texas Department of Public Safety—Narcotics Section, acting under the authority of the Texas Controlled Substances Act, Tex.Rev.Civ.Stat.Ann. art. 4476-15 § 5.04 (Vernon 1976).
